PLEASE READ COMPLETE BIO TO BE SURE YOU HAVE ALL INFORMATION & NEXT STEPS.
TAYLOR is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed and micro-chipped, he weighs around 9 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of 22 April 2016.
TAYLOR did have some skin issues and had several skin-scrapes that tested negative for any kind of mange. The fact that he was picked up as a stray, he has most likely lived his life outside and so the skin issues could be from flea/fly bites, allergies, lack of nutrition. Now he is eating a healthy, grain free diet and getting immune support supplements, (honey, coconut oil, fish oil and vitamin c) he is doing great and his skin is clearing up and hair growing as it should.
TAYLOR is great around all people and children of all sizes, although as puppies do, he does jump up when excited so this will be something that will need to worked on. He is very loving and affectionate with small children and loves to play games with them. He is great with dogs of all sizes and is happy to play and wrestle with the big size dogs, German Shepherds and puppies his size or smaller. He loves to play with squeaky toys and will chase a tennis ball and play with it with the other pups.
TAYLOR eats with the other puppies and has not showed any signs of food aggression or possessiveness. He is very loving and affectionate and will wait patiently for me to pet him and give him lots of love and cuddles. TAYLOR does have slight alpha tendencies with the other puppies, but nothing aggressive, just in play.
TAYLOR has not had any leash training. He rides well in the car just settling down or looking out of the window. Although I have crate in the puppy room, either the doors are taken off, or are tied open, I do not use crates for containment other than for medical issues.
TAYLOR is still young puppy and her ideal family will be active, who are willing and capable of taking her on adventures and road trips so that she can explore all the sights, sounds and smells the world has to offer. She will need at least basic and advanced training, and would make a perfect addition to a family with young children/grandchildren.
We advise families to work on training her as part of the family, this allows TAYLOR to learn and understand personalities, boundaries and expectations and the family members to learn her personality, body language and what she responds best to.
TAYLOR is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $450. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

TAYLOR is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. There is a local hotel in Dover-Foxcroft that is pet-friendly (approx 6 miles) and several in Bangor (approx 45 miles). There are also lots of wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
