About TAIYA | |
|
|
TAIYA was saved from one of the shelters we work with in Texas. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, parvovirus tested; Negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 16 March 2017 and has an estimated weight of 11 pounds. She has 2 siblings, VENUS & SERENA whom we would love to adopt them all together. They was listed as chihuahua mixes, however, I believe they look more like Schipperke / Pappilion mixes. We have no way of knowing what their true breed/s is, it is up to you to decide what you think they are.
TAIYA is a young girl with a LOT of energy bursting to get out. She can get vocal in a playful way but is very responsive. She gets very excited and playful and is a happy, go-lucky girl, full of fun, life and energy. She loves to run and chase around and she does jump up a lot, but she is still a baby and jumping up is very common for rescue dogs all wanting attention. She gets on great with other dogs of all ages and sizes, she does jump on them also initially but they either play with her or let her know they don't like that, to which she is very responsive.
We do NOT have cats at the rescue so are unable to say how she would get on with cats.
TAIYA is at that critical age where she needs to be put on a training program and she needs to be exposed to lots of people and places to give her confidence as she goes through life. A family that
understand that she will need training and guidance and learns that humans are in charge. We advise that families work on their own basic training so that boundaries and expectations can be set and personalities and body language learnt in the process, which will help form a much stronger bond.
TAIYA is located in our kennel building with her sisters, VENUS and SERENA and uses the extreme weather dog door to get in and out to her run. She has not had any accidents in the kennel.
Although a small dog, TAIYA would love an active family that will take her on road trips
to new places, hikes and adventures and letting her explore the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer will be to her and your benefit. TAIYA will make a great family addition, she is fun, active and very loving and deserves a good family and home to call her own.
Priority on applications will be given to families who want to adopt more than one precious saved soul.
TAIYA is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $550.
This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed. We get a lot of interest in puppies and need to be sure families are ready for the hard work puppies bring into the home, who have the time to work with them and ensure they grow up with good manners and a life-long commitment to them.
If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.
Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. Priority is given to approved applications who can come and pick up the dog the soonest so that we can then save another dog from the kill shelters in Texas.

TAIYIA is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
