PARIS was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved. PARIS is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, heartworm tested negative, and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 15 September 2017 and at the time of rescue at the end of September 2018 weighed around 13.50 pounds. She is listed as a Miniature Pinscher / Chihuahua mix. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.

PARIS was aged by the shelter vet as having a birth year  of 200, this is unaccurate, she has bright white teeth, has grown since being here and is such a puppy, she has been estimated to be around 12-18 months old.  She is very active, playful, fun and full of life. She is great with the other dogs of all ages and sizes, living amongst dogs from 6 pound chihuahua's up to 120 pound German Shepherd Dogs. She is friendly and happy to greet people and will bark when she notices something she is unsure of. She is a social girl and loves to explore and when ready to rest she curls up with her friends in front of the pellet stove keeping toasty warm. She is always happy to see people and runs in with the other dogs, tail wagging.

As mentioned she is active and will need a family that can give her a good active life, suitable for her size.  I have not seen her with children, but her demeanor and personality I have no doubt that she would be great with them and a lot of fun too. We do NOT have cats or livestock at the rescue so cannot comment on how she will be near or around them. She does use the dog door in the kennels and so I would suspect that she is almost house-trained. She is most likely not going to know how to let you know that she wants to go out.

As with all rescue's she needs guidance and training and we recommend families go through at least the basics of training with her themselves so that boundaries, personalities and body language can be learned from each other.  She is young and still active and so a family that goes on adventures is preferred. She has never shown any kind of aggression at all, as mentioned she lives, eats and sleeps with lots of other dogs and enjoys their company and so a family with another dog would be great, but if not then it is important that she gets to play and interact with other dogs throughout his life.

All dogs (except dogs saved from China) are available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE.  We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations  and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
