KIKI was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine KIKI is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, heartworm and tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 24 April 2019 and at the time of rescue in the end of August 2019, weighed around 12.00 pounds. The shelter has a breed listing of Australian Cattle Dog Mix. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.
KIKI arrived at the rescue on Thursday, 12th September, the shelter had her listed as an Australian Cattle Dog mix, however, it soon became apparent that she was a much smaller breed, possibly a spaniel/cattle dog mix.
KIKI is a confident, fun, happy-go-lucky, active and lively young pup. She has always been in communal areas with dogs of all ages and sizes, including other puppies so she is extremely well socialized with other dogs. When she meets people she is a live-wire happy and bouncy and excited to share her love. I have not seen her with small children, but still being a young pup and as long as she is treated correctly and given her space, and of course as with all dogs, supervised, I think she would bring great joy to the children and family. She of course does need training and this little girl definitely has a mind of her own so she needs a family that instills guidelines and boundaries so that she does not think she can be in charge.
WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW SHE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK.
KIKI is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550.
This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada.
