Animal Welfare organizations have been deemed as essential business, and so we are able to continue our operation. However, we are taking the threat of COVID-19 very seriously and are following the government guidelines and implemting our own precautions. Meet & Greets will continue to be on an appointment basis only. They will take place either in the outside enclosed area, or the large room at the end of he kennels. There is a no contact, other than with the dog in place and children will not be allowed out of their vehicles.
ACE was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine ACE is neutered core vaccines, rabies, heartworm and tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 24 October 2015 and at the time of rescue in December 2019 weighed around 65 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.
ACE arrived at the rescue on Thursday, 19th December and has settled in well. He is very shy and I believe he has most likely been abused, mistreated or neglected due to him being very shy of people. He does gain confidence when with his room mate TATIANA who has grown to be a great friend for him and helped him come out of his shell.
He is a very gentle boy and although very shy has not shown any signs of aggression, he would rather walk away if he is uneasy. He is going to need a family that understands that he is going to need time to adjust and learn to trust. I am sure in a family environment with a loving, gentle family his confidence will grow and he would make a fantastic addition to a family. I feel he would be great with children as long as they are able to leave him alone and let him come round in his own time - I can see him loving them dearly and in time being their best friend.
