CHARGER was saved  from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine  CHARGER is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 4 February 2018 and at the time of rescue in February 2020 weighed around 25 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.

 

CHARGER arrived at the rescue on Tuesday, 25th February and what a sweet boy he is. He has a long body, like that of a basset, but the coat of a collie. He loves to run and chase and play with the other dogs and will come up "charging" to see me to get his cuddles and ears scratched.

 

Although he has short legs, he loves to run and play and charge around with the other dogs, he is a very happy social boy who I believe would make a great family addition. Of course he will need training so that he understands and learns expectations, rules, boundaries and such. Training is also a great way for family and dog to learn each other's personality and body language. He lives in the communal area with lots of other dogs ranging from small to 120 pound German shepherds of all sizes and is great with them all. He is a friendly, loving boy who deserves a happy, loving, active family and home.

CHARGER is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550.

 

This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada.

Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations  and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
