OLIVER was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. OLIVER is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, heartworm & tick disease tested, negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He weighs around 59 pounds and has an approximate date of birth of 30 June 2017.
We have no idea the exact breed of any dogs so it is up to you to look an decide what you feel the breed is and be sure you are familiar and capable to care for that breed or breed mix.
When Oliver arrived at the rescue he was in a kennel, but after a few days it was clear he could be trusted to be in a communal area and so he was moved to be with the young dogs and had been having a blast since.
Oliver has clearly been someones pet at some point, we have no idea what led him picked up or dumped at the kill shelter, but he is a great all round dog. He is very responsive, he is fun, very affectionate and loving, active, loves to play with toys, great with other dogs, sits at the door waiting to go out, has never shown any sign of aggression and would make a fantastic family addition.
Oliver needs an active family so that he can go on walks, hikes, adventures, trips to the beach or lake and be able to run and burn off his energy, He is great with dogs of all ages and sizes and so another dog, or friends with dogs would be great so he can be social and play with them. All dogs going to new homes and families need to be trained so that they can learn the new rules and get to know the family members, but being an intelligent dog, he would benefit from ongoing training, teaching tricks, agility or any other way of giving him the energy release both physically and mentally.
Oliver has been around young kids and has been great, he is just a really happy, go lucky, fun dog who deserves an amazing loving, active forever family.
All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed.

This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of saving all of the dogs we do, the running, upkeep and maintenance of the rescue. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. All that is needed to take dogs into Canada is a copy of the adoption contract (receipt) and current rabies for pups over 3 months of age.
If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.
Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.
