WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY MORE APPLICATIONS IN FOR KENZIE - THE RESPONSE HAS BEEN OVER-WHELMING. AS SOON AS WE HAVE AN APPROVED ADOPTER SHE WILL BE TAKEN DOWN FROM THE ADOPTION SITES!
KENZIE was an owner surrender from a lady that can sadly no longer keep her. She is being fosterd by her family until a perfect home can be found and she is located in Vermont. KENZIE is a long-haired German Shepherd. She is spayed, rabies, current vaccines, heartworm, tick-disease tested negative, monthly preventatives and microchipped. She has a date of birth of 19 December 2017 and weighs around 60 pounds. She does have a history of stomach issues, which is common in German Shepherds, and is currently on a special diet, so a family that is willing to continue with this is obviously very important. Her full vet records will be provided for future vets to have a complete history.
KENZIE's family tell us that she is great with other dogs and cats. She is great with children, men and women and people she meets, although when strangers come to the home she can get nervous and a little skittish. She is house-trained and will cry to go out, but as with any dog going to a new home, there is a transition period and we expect families to be ready for a few accidents until she gets settled in and learns her new family and routine.
KENZIE does have some seperation anxiety and can bark when she is left on her own, so work on this would be needed, her family does use a pheromone collar for when she is on her own to help with her anxiety. She is a very loving girl, she loves to play and chase around, she enjoys toys, socializing with other dogs and rides great in cars.
KENZIE is a sweet girl that is going to not understand what is happening, she needs a family that is willing to work with her on her sensitive stomach, her seperation anxiety, understand and have the time for her need to be regularily brushed and groomed. As a German Shepherd she is an active girl that needs to have an active lifestyle and lots of mental stimulation.
KENZIE is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $550. Families MUST travel to the met with Kenzie's family in Vermont.

Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of saving all of the dogs we do, the running, upkeep and maintenance of the rescue. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. All that is needed to take dogs into Canada is a copy of the adoption contract (receipt) and current rabies for pups over 3 months of age.
We post our available dogs in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls.
