CAM was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs often have only 3 days to be saved. CAM is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick disease tested negative for all. He is de-wormed, monthly preventatives and microchipped. At the time of rescue at the end of November 2020, he weighed around 50 pounds and has an estimated date of birth 9 May 2019. We cannot say for sure what breed he is, so we expect families to do their own research on his look and size and decide what breed you think he is and if you have the lifestyle suitable for his needs.
More pictures and possible video's can be found on his page on the rescue website.
CAM was being fostered after being at the rescue for several months, the family decided to adopt him in June 2021. After a few months, the rescue was informed the family would like to transfer his adoption to their cousins family who have met Cam an fell in love with him and so he was relocated to a new family.
In June 2022, I received an email stating that CAM had nipped and bitten the small children and needed to come back to rescue. I was informed that the bites were unprovoked, something on which I am not convinced about. Dogs in my opinion from almost 12 years of saving dogs, from lots of research and dealing with all kinds of breeds, personalities and having dogs who are fearful, unsure and all situations you can imagine, always communicate their feelings, and will always give warning signs an escalate as their warning communications are not seen or ignored. However, to be open and honest, I report what I have been told, but relay my opinions also so as not to give the dog an unfair write up and give them even less chance to find a forever home.
So, that being said - we are looking for a family that does not have children, we are looking for a family that will take the time and to learn all about Cam and his body language, his personality, his likes an dislikes and most important to learn how he communicates and respond to him, as we expect others to respond to us. In my original write up on CAM (below) I state how clear he is at communicating, but communication is only good if someone understands.
Other than that, CAM is great with other dogs, he rides great in the car, he loves going for walks and adventures and would just like a care free happy, chilled out life. He has now had several families and that is not good for any dog or living being emotionally or mentally so we want to make sure that this handsome boy gets the family, with the love, security an life that he deserves.
The original family is fostering Cam, so updates and new pictures will be posted as and when we get them.

CAM has been at the rescue since November 2020 and unbelievably has had little interest from anyone. He is a sweet boy, a nice size, gets on good with other dogs here at the rescue, living in a communal area where he shares his food, water, several beds and hang out areas and has access to a large fenced in area where he will explore, or chase and play with the other dogs.
We do not know any history on why CAM ended up in the kill shelter, he has always been mild mannered whilst here, he is a good communicator and will let you know by his body language or a low growl if he is not happy with something - just normal ways that dogs communicate and all pet owners should ensure they are familiar and understand dogs body language on how they communicate.
CAM would love an active family who goes on walks, hikes, runs, trips to the beach or lake where he can explore and live an all round happy, full, healthy life.
We are not able to say how he will be around cats or livestock.
All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed.
