Meet SAMSON!

SAMSON was saved from a high-kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine, on March 15th, 2025. We post our available dogs across the East Coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes of finding them the perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs—families must come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine, to meet and, hopefully, take their new companion home.

  SAMSON is a big, strong, and handsome German Shepherd. He is affectionate, smart, and thrives in an active environment with structure and love.

• Energetic, powerful, and loving

• Walks well on a leash

• Travels great in the car

• Needs regular mental stimulation and an active lifestyle

• ⚠️ High prey drive – not suitable for homes with small dogs, cats, or small animals

• ‍ Texas shelter staff noted: When greeting another large dog on leash, Samson approached with a loose, wiggly body and wagging tail.

• Once approved, you'll be invited to schedule an appointment to meet SAMSON
