SPARTACUS has had a sad life so far.
He was picked up from Animal Care Services, San Antonio on 24th August in a horrendous condition. His owners, I believe, moved out and left him, He had to be held as an investigation was being held and then he was put on the KILL LIST.
GaDaH saved him from being killed on 19th September 2013
Even though SPARTACUS was held at ACS for 3 weeks he obviously received no kind of treatment, which is pretty sad since demodex mange is so very easy to treat. He has open cuts still on his face, which being in a kill shelter could easily have led to further infection.
SPARTACUS was picked up and we took him to the vets for a bath to hopefully make him feel better.
SPARTACUS is a lovely young boy, who is still suffering, mental and his physical wounds, which will take a week or so to clear up and then it is just a matter of his hair all growing back.
SPARTACUS is looking for a family that will help him heal, who will show him that there are good people who love animals and give them the love and respect that they deserve.
SPARTACUS is well mannered and gets on great with other dogs and is very gentle with the 4 week old puppies and mum he is currently sharing a room with ;)
If you can see past SPARTACUS's wounds and imagine him standing with a gorgeous glossy black coat, handsome and strong - this is what he will look like in a few months. As for his mental healing he just needs a family to call his own, and to be able to love and devote his life to forever.
SPARTACUS adoption donation is $250 and GaDaH will pay for his current treatment to get him all fit and healthy again.
GaDaH does allow out of state adoptions, however, the family must travel to San Antonio, to spend time with the dog to make sure personalities are a good match before traveling home together.
