This precious little girl was found by a bridge and the people that found her named her VELLACIO (meaning "bridge" in Italian).
VELLACIO is very sweet, she was a little over-whelmed at first but soon settled in. She plays with the puppies, but doesn't really like rough play.
VELLACIO would be great with a family that wants a small dog, how is smart and loving
Information from her foster mum:
he is about 28 pounds
Super full of energy
Would make a good only dog, but also does very well with any size other dog.
She is cat friendly,
She is crate trained, and often will take her bones in there on her own and nap quietly
She likes to be on your lap, but is getting better about doing it by invitation only.
She is leash trained, and does best with a small harness. (she still pulls a little)
She does not sit on the furniture or sleep in the human bed..(though she would love to)
She is not a digger, but is a hoarder, she likes to make big piles of toys and then sit on them.
the only thing she wants to play with and tear up that is not hers is PAPER. tissue paper, toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels, they are all targets.
She is a love bug and just wants to be with her person, she is eager to please and training has been a snap. She has mastered SIT, anywhere at any time.
My only warning to the new owners is be very careful with the door, if she sees an easy or open opportunity she will door dash. She has done it three times on me. Never when come in, only when leaving. Once she is out she will NOT stop. She will stay about 15 feet ahead of you, she thinks it is a game, and I have found sitting down on the ground in her view and making a crying sound will bring her running..
VELLACIO is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue.
VELLACIO is approximately 1 year old, , spayed, rabies, core vaccines, micro-chipped and heart-worm negative.
