SCOUT is a typical young, very energetic, eager to learn, crazy puppy like, did I mention energetic young boy.
SCOUT is great with all of the dogs in the rescue, he is extremely playful and fun, he is responsive and loves to play and chase the dogs of all ages and sizes. We have terriers in the rescue currently and at times he is a little rough, when he hears a yelp he does back off and realize he was too excitable.
We do NOT have cats or other animals in the rescue and so are unable to comment on how he would act around them.
Several times a day and during the evening I walk around the garden and the dogs all follow - kind of like a pack-walk, they really enjoy doing it and it is a natural thing for dogs to do, SCOUT although he is running back and forth chasing and playing - he does regularly walk by my side and keep looking up at me waiting for attention, instruction or praise.
SCOUT would benefit from a family that understands the need of the German Shepherd Dog and the requirement for not just physical but also mental exercise. He is definitely going to need basic and advanced training and it would be best for the family to do this as it not only creates a stronger bond, but it sets boundaries and expectations and enables both dog and human to learn more about each others personalities, temperaments and body language.
SCOUT is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, tested negative for heart-worm disease and is micro-chipped. SCOUT has been given an estimated birth date of 10 March 2014 and at the time of rescue weighed around 31 pounds.
SCOUT is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $450.
