SHANIA was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services on 20th April 2015.

SHANIA when I first brought her back to the rescue was a little nervous at seeing all the dogs, but when she was in the treatment area, with just a few of them and the others on the other side of the fence, her curiosity soon got the better of her and she confidently went up to the fence to meet the other dogs. After a week, I let SHANIA go with the other dogs and she has been so happy. She loves to run and play, she will playfully chase the smaller terrier dogs and happily wrestle with the larger dogs.

SHANIA is very affectionate, as soon as she came in the house she jumped up on the bed, made herself comfortable and settled down for a quiet nap. She is responsive and has learned that the bed is not her bed and she has to wait to be invited up. SHANIA does jump up when she gets excitement but this can be easily corrected with consistent training and guidance.

We do not have cats in the rescue so I cannot comment on how she is around cats. I do believe once her jumping up has been sorted, she would be fantastic around small children.

SHANIA will benefit from an active family who can take her on adventures and let her take in the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer. She walks ok on a leash, and is responsive. I believe she would be very easy to train. She would absolutely benefit from basic and advanced training with her new family. This will enable a stronger bond and allows both family and SHANIA to learn more of each others personalities and body language.

SHANIA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, tested negative for heart-worm disease and is micro-chipped. SHANIA has an estimated date of birth of 15 April 2014 and at the time of rescue she weighed 42.90 pounds.

SHANIA is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350
