NALA was saved from Fort Worth Kill Shelter in Texas on 24th July 2015. She was boarded for a week until transport and then transported up to the rescue in Sebec, Maine.
NALA is a stunning RED SABLE, she has an estimated date of birth of 12 May 2012 and weighed around 55 pounds at the time of rescue. NALA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, lepto vaccine, HW tested Negative, de-wormed and micro-chipped.
NALA is a very intelligent girl who loves to be with her human, she is full of life and happiness and would make the right family an outstanding new addition. She will need to have her mind challenged often, she isn't interested in fetch, she wants to do more. She watches when I open and close the latch on the gate and I can see her mind racing trying to figure out a way that she can do it - sadly for her, I put clasps on so she can't open them lol.
NALA will benefit from some basic and obedience training as with all new dogs to establish boundaries and expectations from both humans and dog. We do not have cats in the rescue so I do not know how she is with cats. She is great with other dogs and currently shares a large kennel with 3 other female dogs, she has playtime with other male and female dogs of all sizes including 8 pound terriers. When new dogs are introduced she does try to be dominant but does back down if they challenge her. She can get vocal, but I think that is more due to being in a kennel and not in a family home.
She has never shown any signs of aggression just a lot of energy that needs to be channeled or else she gets restless and then will get up to mischief.
NALA is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for $400

The rescue is located in Sebec, Maine, we welcome "by appointment" families to come and spend time, meet with their potential new family members before taking them home, but understand sometimes this is not possible due to distance. We are, however, happy to work with you on transport arrangements, but any additional fee's would be at the adopters expense.
