T ANGO was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services. He has been diagnosed as having demodex mange, which is non-contagious and having been on treatment is making great progress. He has been given a three month treatment and so will just need a follow up vet visit in February to have a skin scrape and to be sure that there are no more mites. If more treatment is needed it is very inexpensive. TANGO would benefit from weekly medicated baths, just to help his skin and hair growth.

TANGO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, lepto vaccine, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of  30 March 2015 and at time of rescue she weighed around 66 pounds. TANGO is friendly boy who gets on great with humans and other dogs alike. He is comfortable amongst the larger dogs and the small terriers that we have in rescue. TANGO does really enjoy chasing and paying with the other GSDs, he is very playful and has a lot of "puppy" in him. We also have three rabbits in cages in the living room and although he does become interested when they are jumping around being active, he has not tried to get in or on top of their hutch/runs. We do not have cats so we cannot comment how he would react with them.

TANGO is full of love and affection, he would make a great family companion. He does get a little excitable so would need to be watched around small children in case he was to knock them over, but he is a lot of fun and loves rolling over to have his belly rubbed.

TANGO does walk ok on the leash, but will need more practice along with basic and advanced obedience. It is best for the family to plan to train him as this will set boundaries, expectations and allows both human and dog to learn each others personalities and body language.

TANGO would benefit an active family that has the time to spend with him to work on training and bonding and be able to take him to lots of different places so that he can enjoy all the different, sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer.

TANGO is very sweet and affectionate and deserves a family that can give him the love and happiness that this stunning boy desires.

TANGO is currently located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine, however, we post in states along the east coast where transport is available.this gives our precious saved souls more exposure and once adopted, we are able to save more dogs from the kill shelters in Texas that get 3 days before they are killed.

We love it when families can take a trip to meet the dogs before taking them home, but understand this is not always possible and so work in arranging transport to pick up from the rescue in Sebec and can meet up with families around the Middleton, CT area. This can come at an additional cost, generally between $100 - $150 and is paid directly to the transport.
