SASSY-1 was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. SASSY-1 is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, heartworm and tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 1 March 2019 and at the time of rescue in the end of August 2019, weighed around 45.00 pounds. The shelter has a breed listing of German Shepherd Dog. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.
SASSY-1 arrived at the rescue on Thursday, 12th September and settled in great. She is a bundle of energy, fun, love and excitement. She is a very happy-go-lucky girl who loves and gets on with everyone and everything that she meets. She loves to be around other dogs and is always chasing, running, wrestling or rolling around with her friends here at the rescue. She is always keeping active family and runs with joy when she sees me.
Sassy needs an active family who can give her not just the physical exercise that she needs but also the mental stimulation. She needs obedience training and then fun and games to keep her mind active and challenged. I have not seen her with children, however, as long as they were respectful to her and as with all dogs, supervised together, I see no problems at all. Sassy I am sure would enjoy playing and running and being with other energetic little beings :)
WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW SHE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK.
If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.
Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.
