SANDY-1 was saved with her two siblings from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. SANDY-1 is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 22 May 2019 and at the time of rescue in the end of August 2019, weighed around 8.00 pounds. The shelter has a breed listing of Jack Russell Terrier Mix, however, we have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.
At the end of October Sandy weighs around 20-25 pounds.
SANDY-1 is a puppy and would be best suited to a family who has another dog or other animals and be willing to ensure she has lots of socialization with other dogs and is willing to take training very seriously. She will be coming up to the age where she will be teething and chewing on anything and everything. A patient family who understands she is a baby and needs to learn and knows that having a puppy is a LOT of WORK.
SANDY-1 will be arriving at the rescue on Thursday, 12th September and we will update when she has been here and settled so we can give a more accurate description of her personality and mannerisms. As time permits, we will take more pictures. You are welcome to complete and submit the adoption application if you are interested in giving her a forever home.
WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW SHE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK.
SANDY-1 is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550. A $100 will be applied if adopting two pups / dogs.
This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada.
If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.
Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.
